Volunteering at the Pines Health Care and Rehabilitation Center offers you the challenge of sharing your time and talents, enhancing the quality of life for our residents, and learning more about yourself, others and the opportunities around you.

What is a Volunteer?


Volunteers are individuals just like you--people who recognize the importance of committing their time and energy to helping others. They are individuals from all walks of life and ages.

Who Can Volunteer?


Our volunteers must be at least 15 years old and possess the following qualifications:

  • A cheerful disposition
  • A sincere desire to enhance the quality of life for our residents.
  • An ability to work with our residents.

What Do Volunteers Do?


  • Arts and Crafts/Cards and Games
  • Friendly Visiting
  • Playing an Instrument or Singing
  • Bible Study
  • Reminiscent Groups/Current Events
  • Transporting
  • Adopt a Resident
  • Trim & Polish

How Do I Get Started?


Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer should call the Activities Department (Olean Campus) at (716)373-1910 ext. 4400 to set up an interview. At the interview, an application is filled out and you will talk with the Volunteer Coordinator. The interview is used to get acquainted and to discover the skills, abilities and preferences of the volunteer in relation to the needs of our residents.
