Activities

The Pines' Activities professionals at each Campus provide a wide range of interesting, age appropriate and meaningful activities for the residents of the Pines. Whether the preference is for individual or group activities, our residents find many things to occupy their time!

Among the activities offered are:

  • Arts and crafts
  • Community outings and day trips
  • Entertainment programs
  • Study Groups
  • Table games
  • Resident committees

Olean Campus

A wide variety of activities are available on a daily basis through the activity department. Residents are encouraged to participate in the structured programs as well as to continue to pursue independent hobbies that they enjoyed prior to admission. Programs include, but are not limited to: crafts, games, entertainment, cooking, exercise, discussion groups and coffee hours. Church services are available for all denominations on a weekly basis. Catholic communion is given weekly.

There are scheduled community outings for shopping, dining-out, festivals, scenic rides, movies, etc. residents are responsible for their own expenses during outings.

Family, visitors, and friends are invited to partake in any activity program as space permits.

Twice a year a commercial traveling store visits the facility to give the residents and their families a chance to shop. A variety of adaptive clothing is offered at these sales.

Resident Council meets once a month. It serves as a vehicle for residents to voice concerns, compliments, choose a meal of the month and suggest a variety of activities or ideas. All residents are invited to participate in the Resident Council meetings.
