Visiting Hours

Visiting hours in our facilities are not restricted. The front doors are typically locked between 7 and 7:30 pm.  They are reopened by 8:00 a.m.  Visitors needing entry when the doors are locked will have to ring the doorbell or use the vestibule phone and wait for assistance. Children are welcome with the supervision of an adult.

Visitation Guidance

To ensure safety of all residents in facility the following steps will be followed in the event that a resident is out of the facility for less than 24 hours for a medical reason or community outings.

  1. It is preferred, but not required, by the facility that a prior 24 hour notification be provided by family members/responsible parties that would like to take their resident out of the facility for an appointment or community outing.
  2. Family/responsible party will be educated verbally regarding proper Infection Prevention and Control recommendations, including, wearing masks, social distancing, and proper hand hygiene, and given written guidance to take with them.
  3. Resident will be educated, if able, regarding proper Infection Prevention and Control recommendations, including, wearing masks, social distancing, and proper hand hygiene.
  4. Upon return to the facility, resident will be monitored for any signs and symptoms consistent with COVID-19.
  5. COVID-19 POC rapid testing will be conducted, with consent, on the 1st, 7th, and 14th day upon return to facility.
  6. The facility reserves the right to quarantine residents for 14 days upon return if there is uncertainty about their adherence or the adherence of those around them to the recommended Infection Prevention and Control guidance.

Trips Off Campus

Per NYS DOH guidance, COVID-19-vaccinated residents can go on outings with family members as long as these guidelines are followed and will not require quarantine (unless we determine that infection control may have been jeopardized). Please note that this guidance is only for residents that are not currently quarantined for any reason.

Guidance for Time Spent Outside the Nursing Home and in the Community

Attention all residents and caregivers

PLEASE follow all recommended COVID infection prevention and control practices in an effort to keep everyone safe and healthy. This includes wearing a mask when unable to maintain social distancing.  Exceptions include eating and drinking where a mask cannot be worn.

Source Control

Avoid contact with people who have signs or symptoms of COVID or have been around someone who is known to be sick.  Avoid large indoor and outdoor crowds.  Limit time spent in confined smaller spaces.

Physical Distancing

Try to stay 6 feet away from others, as possible.

Hand Hygiene

Wash and/or sanitize your hands frequently and avoid touching your face.  Be mindful of door knobs and other high touch areas.  Sanitize frequently.  * We will provide you with a travel size hand spray

Encourage those around you to follow these same practices

If the resident become accidentally exposed to someone who is known to be COVID POSITIVE or tests POSITIVE within 72 hours of the visit, PLEASE NOTIFY THE FACILITY IMMEDIATELY.  This in VERY IMPORTANT
