There was an error in the Olean Times Herald article: Local COVID-19 cases expected to rise with hike in tests published on April 14, 2020. No healthcare workers have tested positive at The Pines Olean location. This information is inaccurate. As always, we will be keeping families updated of any developments pertaining to COVID-19 and our facilities.

The NYS Department of Health, the CDC and the CMS are providing daily updates and recommendations on the Covid-19 battle. The Pines is proactively instituting the recommended changes in an effort to keep our residents and staff safe and healthy.

We have been made aware of an employee of The Pines- Machias Campus testing positive for the COVID 19 virus.  At this time, there are no residents showing signs or symptoms of having COVID and no residents have tested positive for COVID.  Those staff members who have been in contact with the affected employee have been contacted by the county health department and given instruction to monitor for signs and symptoms and to report

Tomorrow, Friday, April 9th, is the last day to drop off Easter Baskets and Goodies to Machias or Olean to be distributed on Easter for Residents. (with the 48 hour quarantine)

Just a reminder to all family members that we cannot have visitors in or around the facility during this state of emergency. The includes “window” visits. Our residents’ privacy is very important, so we cannot have people up close to the windows, peeping in, decorating law areas, etc.
